Kezia M. Williams is a proven leader in the fields of organizational development and project management. She has used her skills to benefit nonprofit organizations and associations in major cities such as: the District of Columbia, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Atlanta. Currently, Ms. Williams serves as Chair of Capital Cause, a DC-based fiscally-sponsored nonprofit dedicated to engaging young philanthropists in giving. Her work with this organization has included growing the organization from five vested members to over 5,000 young professionals influenced by the message of young philanthropy. Through managing a team of ten committed volunteers, Williams has: oversaw the planning of capital campaigns which successfully funded grants for DC area nonprofits; worked collaboratively to increase Capital Cause membership by 50% annually for the past two years; and directed efforts to continuously brand Capital Cause as a nonprofit of choice for young professionals. Having a deep interest in public service, Ms. Williams has served as (1) the youngest member on the City of Alexandria’s Human Rights Commission from 2005-2008, (2) the first Director of Political Engagement for the Northern Virginia Urban League from 2005-2007, (3) and a top fundraiser for the 2008 Obama for America campaign having raised $250,000, and recently (4) Deputy Lead for National Day of Service for Obama's 57th Presidential Inaugural Committee. Ms. Williams’ public service contributions were recognized by Envest Foundation who selected her as Top 40 Under 40 in 2010, the Kiwanis Club who awarded her the 2012 Excellence in Community Service Award, and the National Urban League who invited her to speak at their 2012 Empowerment Conference. Ms. Williams also has experience working as a senior analyst developing national strategies for multiple federal agencies.
